Review of the bookmaker BlueBet from Legalbet

BlueBet is a 100% Aussie bookmaker that was launched five years ago, back in 2015. The company was founded by CEO Michael Sullivan, who had led Sportingbet, Centrebet and William Hill Australia over the past few years.

BlueBet focuses solely on sports and horse racing betting and is licensed by the NSW Government and regulated by Racing NSW. Furthermore, BlueBet is aware that partnerships are playing a crucial role in their development, so they are an approved betting partner of NRL, Tennis Australia, Football Federation Australia, Rugby Union, Cricket Australia and PGA of Australia.

Odds - Average

BlueBet is still a small bookmaker, but the quantity of sports and leagues available on the platform is pretty impressive. BlueBet offers good odds mostly for football fixtures and horse racing betting, as these two sports are popular amongst Aussie bettors.

We calculated the margin for BlueBet by analyzing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Low

From 5.01% to 7%: Normal

From 7.01% to 10%: High

Soccer

We got our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the over / under for different soccer leagues. Getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

BlueBet has an overall average margin of 6.39% for soccer and falls in the normal margins category. In the first section with Spanish La Liga and Seria A, the margin is at 6.35%. With Premier League and Championship, in the second section, the margin is at 6.18%. Finally, taking the Netherlands Eredivisie, Polish Ekstraklasa and Austrian Bundesliga into account, the margin is at 6.64%.

Range of Sports and Markets - Average

The betting markets coverage is pretty good for such a small bookmaker. There are over 50 betting markets for the most important sports such as AFL, football, cricket, rugby union, NRL, tennis and more.

The coverage isn’t industry-leading but is more than enough to satisfy the majority of the punters. To provide a snapshot example, for this evening there are over 100 football fixtures, with 36 betting markets for the top leagues.

As for horse racing, you can practically bet on anything from simple wagers on the win, place or each-way markets, to more complex ones like Best Tote Plus SP, Best of 3 Totes, Best of 2 Totes, etc. Furthermore, multi-betting is available at BlueBet, meaning that you can place bets on a Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta or Quadrella. Best Odds Guaranteed aren’t available if you’re looking to find that on the site, due to the fact that BlueBet is using fixed odds.

BlueBet also offers to its customers the ability to place bets on less popular sports such as snooker, table tennis, volleyball, athletics, although the betting markets available for these sports are few.

An important aspect that you need to consider before placing your first bet at BlueBet is that the bookie applies a minimum bet limit of $0.50 for Internet transactions and $50 for bets placed via telephone.
