Odds - Average

We calculated the margin for SportsBet by analyzing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Low

From 5.01% to 7%: Normal

From 7.01% to 10%: High

Soccer

We got our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the over / under for different soccer leagues. Getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

SportsBet has an overall average margin of 6.9% for soccer and falls in the normal margins category. In the first section with Spanish La Liga and Seria A, the margin is at 6.6%. With Premier League and Championship, in the second section, the margin is at 6.24%. Finally, taking the Netherlands Eredivisie, Polish Ekstraklasa and Austrian Bundesliga into account, the margin is at 7.87%.

Range of Sports and Markets - Good

Sportsbet provides its customers with a great variety of sports betting markets, which is considered to be one of the best in Australia. Sportsbet customers can place a wager on AFL, NRL, rugby, cricket, tennis, soccer and much more. The other sports less popular are kept separate, but still offer over 70 different betting markets for each event.

Football

If you are a football fan, then you will find plenty of leagues available for betting at Sportsbet. They offer full coverage for the most popular football leagues in the world, including the European top competitions like the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 just to mention a few. You can also bet on International competitions such as the Champions League, Europa League, Copa Libertadores, Asian Champions League, etc.

Punters can choose from hundreds of betting markets every day, for both pre-match and live events. In addition, players can wager on special betting markets like Asian Handicaps, Miracle Mile and Megabets.

Another exciting feature available at Sportsbet is the tipping competition which allows punters to bet against each other and win a reward each week.

Horse Racing

As you might know already, horse racing is one of the most attended sports in Australia each year, meaning that it’s very prolific when it comes to betting. We need to mention that Sportsbet offers an amazing service for horses and greyhounds. You can bet on International horse races from all around the globe, but also on huge Aussie races like the Melbourne Cup.

Sportsbet has some exciting features available for the horse racing fans and here we can mention the Tote Best Plus, the Same Race Multi-feature, Power Play Multis, Fast Code Multis, etc. The Tote Best Plus is similar to the European Best Odds Guaranteed, meaning that the bettor will receive the better of the dividends.

In addition, Sportsbet offers enhanced prices on a daily basis for local meetings, but you can also bet on trifectas, exactas and quinellas.

About the bookmaker

Sportsbet is definitely the most popular Australian bookmaker, mostly due to their vast experience and their sports betting product. Sportsbet was established in 1993 and the company was purchased by Matthew Tripp for just $250,000 back in 2005. Sportsbet has grown a lot in popularity since then and in 2009, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power agreed upon a 51% acquisition package for $200 million. However, Sportsbet continues to operate as its own entity, despite an additional 39% share was purchased for $132 million by Paddy in 2011. Paddy Power merged with Betfair back in 2018, which means that Sportsbet Australia is owned by Paddy Power Betfair. Sportsbet is licensed in the Northern Territory by the Northern Territory Racing Commission.

Sportsbet offers to its customers some of the best betting odds in Australia, delivering value for bettors across a wide selection of sports and horse racing. If you live in Australia, then you will see that Sportsbet is often in the media, via TV stations or in the newspapers for their humorous betting promotions.

The Sportsbet website is very easy to navigate and uses a three-column layout, with sports listed on the left-hand side, betting markets and odds in the centre and the betting slip on the right.

If you’re looking to enjoy Sportsbet while on the go, then you should try their mobile betting app which is available for both iOS and Android users. The mobile app runs smoothly and allows you to quickly navigate between all the important sections of the desktop version of Sportsbet.
